How to prevent fuel card fraud with telematics

Pairing a fuel card with vehicle telematics lets you automatically cross-check every transaction’s location and time against where the vehicle actually was, which is the fastest way to catch the two most common fuel card fraud patterns: fuel bought for a vehicle that wasn’t at that site, and a card used well outside a driver’s normal route. On its own, a fuel card already limits exposure through PIN protection, per-driver or per-vehicle cards, and daily or monthly spend caps. Telematics adds the location layer on top, so a mismatch between GPS data and a transaction site flags itself rather than needing someone to notice it manually on a monthly statement.
